Our next annual event will be held in Ogden, Utah, between July 29 and August 1, 2025.
Nested in the Wasatch mountains, just east of the Great Salt Lake, the location couldn’t be better for gathering to share new research and, of course, birding. Just 40 minutes north of the Salt Lake City airport, Ogden has a historic downtown with bars, breweries, music venues, and restaurants.
5 national parks are within a relatively short driving distance, and Ogden itself boasts great places for field trips. There will be plenty of birding options that will highlight the diversity of ecosystems in northern Utah, from the Great Salt Lake to subalpine forests.
Wilson’s Phalaropes, American Avocets, Western Tanagers, Townsend’s Solitaires, Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, Red-naped Sapsuckers, Lazuli Buntings, Brewer’s Sparrows and Snowy Plovers are only some of the cool Western birds that can be found around Ogden.
We are busy orgfaceanizing accommodation options at hotels downtown within walking distance of the conference venue as well as exciting social events. Rebecka Brasso, AFO’s Vice President, will be our local host.
Be on the lookout for all the news and calls for this event on our social media, blog and the event’s official site. We hope to see you there!
