Annual Meetings
Each year we hold a scientific conference for our members at an exciting location somewhere within the Americas. Conferences are often held jointly with partner societies and are open to everyone. Visit the annual meetings page for more information on our conferences.
Ornithological Congress of the Americas
In 2017, AFO partnered with Sociedade Brasileira de Ornitologia (SBO) and Aves Argentinas to hold a joint conference of the Americas in South America. We are excited to continue this tradition in 2023 with the second congress planned to take place in Gramado, Brazil. In addition to Aves Argentinas and SBO, we will also be joined by the Bolivian Ornithological Society (ASBOR), and the Neotropical Ornithological Society (NOS). We look forward to sharing more details as this exciting event develops.
AFO Café
AFO is excited to present a series of virtual science cafés, which are open to the public. That’s right, anyone can attend! We will host monthly discussions on various ornithological topics, featuring work from our community across the globe. Visit the café page for more information on upcoming events and past speakers in the series.
AFO-WOS Workshop Series
We have partnered with our colleagues at the Wilson Ornithological Society to offer periodic workshops and roundtables for students and early-career professionals. These events are only available to members of AFO or WOS, so be sure to join today!
